「スピルバン（SPIELBAN）」の名の由来は映画監督スティーヴン・スピルバーグからだと言われている。

また、初期案での番組タイトルには『メタルマン』、『大時空戦士スターロン』が挙げられていた。


前作までと同様、鍍金質のスーツや主人公側のメカニック、それに主人公変身時の解説ナレーションなど、
基本的なフォーマットは「宇宙刑事シリーズ」の
それを踏襲しており、シリーズの集大成が目指された。

このヒーロー戦隊モノの戦力マシンである【ガイオス】だと思いますが、保証は一切しません。
